[This blog was written in the sky when I am flying by AK1029 from Bandung to Johor Bahru]
For three days, from 19 to 21 January 2015, I visited Padang and Bandung. On 19 January morning, I delivered a lecture at Akademi Teknologi Industri Padang (ATIP) on my experience as a researcher and lecturer. Dr. Ester Edwar, Deputy Director of the ATIP, who arranged this lecture, is my schoolmate from kindergarten to high school in Padang. On that day, I also met with Dr. Jon Efendi, Dr. Umar Kalmar Nizar, and also Prof. Rusdi, a former education attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
On 20 January morning, I attended a Ph.D. examination of Yuli Yetri as the external examiner at Universitas Andalas (UNAND). The chairman of the examination was Prof. Edison Munaf. The examination went well, and the candidate responses and the answers to the questions raised by the examiners.
On 20 January afternoon, I flew to Bandung to attend the closed Ph.D. exam of Mita Rilyanti at Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) on 21 January morning. I am her co-supervisor. The examination went well, and Mita Rilyanti finally passed her closed Ph.D. exam and be allowed to take her open Ph.D. exam on 13 February 2015, at ITB.
Happy event occurred in the afternoon at Cafe Halaman near ITB campus when I met and gathered with my relatives in Bandung; Dr. Rino Rakhmata Mukti (ITB), Dr. Irdam Adil (ITB), Dr. Afnimar (ITB), Dr. Rizal Sani (TEDC) and Dr. Erham Wilda (UNISBA). I just realized that we all are teachers who have all been having a Ph.D.!
