UTM Excellent Scientists Program (ESP) workshop [12 – 14 June 2013]

A workshop on UTM Excellent Scientists Program (UTM ESP) was held at Mahkota Hotel, Melaka from 12 to 14 June 2013. The UTM ESP was developed to groom competent young students through their studies to produce home-grown scientists that are able to conduct frontier science research and innovation for the benefit of the country and mankind.

The UTM ESP program was actually started at UTM in 1998 and was discontinued in 2009. This program was previously organized by Ibnu Sina Institute for Fundamental Science Studies, UTM. More than 50 alumni of this program were obtained their PhD degrees from various universities abroad. This year, the ESP program has continued using UTM research university fund and reorganized under UTM Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Research & Innovation office.
